Firewall

Plot Outline: With his family held for ransom, the head security executive for a global bank is commanded to loot his own business for millions in order to ensure his wife and children’s safety. He then faces the demanding task of thwarting the kidnapper’s grand scheme, which makes him look guilty of embezzlement.

Personal Comments:

I went for this one last saturday… I was really expecting a nice action movie and I had it! :) It was a well-spent 4€. Although getting old our Indiana was still up to the job… However the end could be better! The last fight seems too easy after such difficult times… And I’ve seen a continuity goof not yet reported at the imdb.org (watch out for spoiler): In the end, before the last fight when the wife and kids escape from enprisionment they have their hands tied up and they run away like this, still after the fight when Jack Steinfield is searching for them, they show up with their hands completely untied. I didn’t like this much, since there is no reference for them untying their hands of any sort. It seems they had their hands untied by magic.

Still, a very good action movie!

Saw

Plot Outline: Adam (Leigh Whannell) and Dr. Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes) wake up chained to pipes at opposite ends of a dirty utility room. They soon learn that they have become the victims of the Jigsaw, a man who devises intricate situations to teach his victims to value their life by forcing them to hurt theirselves or others to stay alive. Jigsaw is described as a killer, but never actually does any harm to his victims. Pitted against the clock and each other, the two must work to outwit their captor and save Gordon’s family, who have been taken hostage by the killer.

Personal Comments:

My brother rented this movie yesterday for a nicely spent holiday and “Oh, My God!”… The question is, what have I done to miss it in the cinema. Indeed, it is not a movie for the faint of the heart and has some shocking, powerful images but still it is the best horror movie I’ve ever seen. It is about an ingenious plot where every detail is important and the end… Well, I won’t tell you how it ends but if you see the movie, I’m sure you won’t forget it so soon. The argument is just blasting and although I didn’t know the actors, they were very, very nice! Get it!

Just Friends

Plot Outline: When he confessed his love for his best friend during their formative high school years ago, Chris was met with a broken heart and a degrading humiliation. Only adding insult to injury was his larger than life frame which became a source of ridicule for cruel classmates. But years later and things having changed, Chris is now a hotshot record producer in Hollywood and the complete physical opposite of himself in high school. He’s also got an up and coming act by the name of Samantha James who has a psychotic crush on her producer. When a freak accident occurs on the way to Paris, Chris is forced to return home with her in tow. Little does he know that he would come face to face with the friend that he tried so desperately to forget. With the chance to woo her again, Chris will do what he can despite his client’s violent misgivings and a competitive rival suitor against him. No matter the crazy obstacles he must overcome, Chris will do whatever it takes to be more than just friends.

Personal Comments:

This is surely a very nice movie if you wish to have a funny and entertaining night. The movie is full of entertaining jokes, and delightful scenes of the every day life of a guy who is after a long-life friend. I do recommend it for you couples out there needing a night full of laughts… For the other, just check it out and watch out for the friend zone.
