Pope dead through Hi-Tech

Posted in Life at 10:04 am by pmatos

No matter how incredible this seems… It seems to be true, at least it is on Yahoo News: Vatican Used SMS, Email to Announce Pope’s Death.

As soon as the pope died, the Vatican sent a message to the media which confirmed his death. The Vatican even suggested journalists to purchase handhelds so they could receive the email confirming Popes death. It looks like the message arrived in a Word document saying: “The Holy father died this evening at 21:37 in his private apartment.”

Although I obviously support the fact that Tech should be used by all and the church should not be a group of believers living in the XXI century like they lived in the V century this message is somewhat awkward. It seems to me that the death of the Pope should be confirmed orally before anything else. hummm, probably I’m old-fashioned!!!
