The truth is…
Oh well, forget the subject…
A week ago I bought a very nice book The Elements of Style by Strunk and White through amazon.co.uk, which is about hints, advices and tips to write in english. The book is small but excellent. Every word has a meaning, every sentence has some profound advice. One which I just laught out loud says for example:
Start of sentences:
“The truth is… The fact is… A bad beginning for a sentence. If you feel you are possessed of the truth, or of the fact, simply state it. Do not give it advance billing.”
If you want to learn to write with a good style… get it… NOW!
